Attendance

As a matter of school policy we encourage full attendance to all children. We reward full attendance and excellent attendance (fewer than 8 days missed) with special certificates at the end of the school year. We ask you to actively encourage your children to aim for full attendence.

If your child is absent from school, the class teacher must receive notification from the parent to explain the absence.

If a parent were aware that his/her child is going to be absent from school for a considerable length of time, the school would appreciate being given advance notification of this.

If a child is absent for 15 consecutive says, no matter what the reason, law obliges the principal to strike the pupil's name from the roll books. The child's name will be re-entered on his/her return to school.

If a child is absent for 20 days or more, the Principal is obliged to contact the National Welfare Board to deal with the matter.
